I woke up this morning to the smell of bacon. I can not think of a better way to start the day! Also, it was 10:00. That's right, 10:00. Brian got up with Ashlyn this morning and I got to sleep in! The extra sleep was greatly needed because my nights are not very restful these days. So I was able to sleep in and then awaken to the smell of bacon...yum. Brian had made bacon, eggs, and cinnamon toast. What a guy! I really am a very lucky lady!
An hour later at 11:00, Brian said he had another surprise for me. How could my day get any better? Brian said his Pocket PC, or Smart Phone, had sent a reminder that today was daylight savings and it was really only 10:00! How great! I now had two hours to relax before I needed to get ready for church.
It was the perfect Sunday morning. And then came the shock. When we got to church, one of Brian's deacons walked by us in the hall and asked, "Why are you so late?" I admit, we were two minutes late, but I would not consider that "so late". He then said, "sacrament meeting is almost over." WHAT?!! Not such a "Smart Phone". Just a friendly reminder, daylight savings is next Sunday.

You lucky guys! Two day-light savings days in as many weeks. Sleeping in is a great thing and good for the body! Rest while you can. Way to go Brian. Weekend breakfasts are the best.
Love,
Mom and Dad
NERDS!!!
Is Brian available for hire?
LOL! As I am reading this post I begin to get excited that it is an hour earlier and start to change my clocks, then I FINISH the post. I guess I will go change all the clocks back! Us Smiley's aren't always known for our smarts!
What in the world?! My phone did that today too!! I set my alarm for 7:30, and woke up to Austin talking at 8:10 on Scott's alarm. I looked at my phone and it said 7:10, so I thought I still had twenty minutes. Austin didn't go back to sleep so I looked at the alarm clock again and my phone and then decided to look at Scott's phone (which is EXACTLY the same as mine)and his was the same as the alarm. I quickly got up at 8:10 and we rushed through our morning to try to get to church at 9:00 but were still a little bit late. Why did my phone change and Scott's didn't?! Weird!!
Too funny! Isn't sad how much we depend on these great little gadgets? But what did we ever do with out them? Way to go Brian! I got to sleep in, but no breakfast.
PS - no ex at the reunion. He graduated in 96. That was one of Aaron's questions when we were walking in ;).
Umm...haven't you guys ever heard of a calendar? It's printed on pretty much all of them.
PS - I loved the smell of bacon in the morning until I burned my foot on a George Foreman grill. Now I wrap it in bubble wrap.
(10 points to anyone who gets that reference)
The office - Michael Scott - Where can I redeem my points
Zach: The Office!!!! Woohoo, ten points for me.
This change in daylight savings has caused mass confusion and chaos for those electronic devices. And the poor computer technicians who have to fix them, bless their hearts.
Jason's clock on his nightstand changed on it's own too, and I was also so excited that we got an extra hour...but then we started realizing that our cell phones didn't change or the computer. :o) That is great though.
One of my favorite episodes Zach! And by the way, it was printed on our calendar, but I didn't bother to look. I trusted the "Smart Phone".
Yay I love the office! oh yeah way to go Brian. Isn't that great when husbands do little things that just make our day! I was reading your post and thinking 'how did I miss daylight savings'. Good thing I didn't because I love having an extra hour of sleep/relax time!
That story was pretty funny and I still don't understand all the hoopla about the office! We watched the 1st episode and haven't seen it since-I guess it didn't leave much of an impression!
LOL! That is too funny!
What a great hubby to let you sleep in and make you breakfast.
Ruth you should try watching the Office again-its pretty funny!
