The other day, Ashlyn tattled on Fanny. Apparently Fanny was naked. Brian quickly asked if Fanny was a boy or a girl. Luckily, Fanny was a girl that day. Phew.
I have learned from trying to take pictures of my nieces, nephews and my own kiddos, that you can not tell a child to say "cheese". Most of you will understand why. If you tell them to say "cheese", you never get a cute smile. Instead, what you get are puckered lips, raised eyebrows, gritted teeth, and a wrinkled nose. It takes hard work and/or luck to get an authentic smile. This has been my solution as of late:
Show me angry face -
Show me sad face -
Show me silly face -
Show me surprised face -
Show me ??? face -
Show me happy face -
There we go. Close enough.
What a beauty.

Your pictures are precious! I don't really understand the imaginary friend thing either...I didn't have one. Wonder how she came up with that name?! :)
Do you think she got Fanny from that cute Fanny book (married to Heber?) Just wondering. I adore that girl - she's so funny.
The new link idea works well - but are you sure you want to go through all that work? I mean, I am still trying to update from a month ago and I don't go to school! Good luck!
My word I am behind on your blog (no thanks to google reader). Your girl is a doll Jamie!
I love her little girl room you did a few posts ago, it looks great!
So cute! My niece had an imaginary friend. Grandma Do Do. She died. It was sad. Good luck with the trans gender Fanny!
Lol, I love Fanny! That she-male is something else, always causing trouble with her escapades and nakedness! At least you get all kinds of great faces just trying to get to the pretty smile! She is a beauty! Miss you guys!
I have never heard of Fanny. Apparently, Fanny doesn't sneak in the car when you come to my house. That is probably a good thing because can you Fanny, Ashlyn and Madi all fighting.
I love the pictures. Very cute!
She is such a cute girl! That is really smart of you to get all those faces by NOT asking them to say "Cheese".
I love the second blog to keep us posted by the way!
Oh my goodness, she is just beautiful. I loved the surprised face. those lips!!! too sweet...she looks so big. Also, Fanny is a great story..still laughing. None of my kids have had an imaginary friend. I had an imaginary Grandma. I miss her.
She was one stinkin' cute girl! What a personality, love it!
I love the strategy for catching a happy face. Great pictures.
I want an imaginary friend.
The expressions are priceless! We sure love that Ashbelle and her fun-loving personality. Fanny is welcome to come visit at our house any time.
Love, Grandmom and Grandpa
SO fun!! I loved when Kamryn had imaginary friends! Soap and Lush were hers. We used to say "you can clean your room like a big girl because you have your friends to help you".. or.. "it's not scary to go upstairs in the dark, just hold Soap's hand". It always worked and we were sad to see them go.
Ashlyn cracks me up! Can't wait to meet her, someday.
Uh... Fanny is the name my grandma uses to describe your bum. I wish my "Fanny" was imaginary too.
And I lover her expressions!!
First of all, she is just amazingly beautiful. SO cute. I love her facial expressions :) She looked so angry in the first one. Hehe.
Second, imaginary friend? That is adorable. Kennedy has never really had one. Fanny?? What an interesting name. I guess it can be somewhat androgynous. lol.
What a great idea...doing all the different faces. I'm totally going to try that with my 2 year old! :) She is adorable!!!
She is a beauty. We love Ashbelle and her amazing sense of humor. She is going to keep up laughing for years. Poor girl needed someone to blame since everyone is always blaming her!
