There are only two things about going to school that I hate. First, it costs way too much $$$!! Second, it takes me away from my family. When I have class during the day, Ashlyn gets to go to preschool, and Trent gets a play date with Maya (Thanks Mindy!). When I have class at night, Brian gets to play "Mr. Mom". On one such night, Brian was busily trying to juggle all the needs and wants of the two kids. He was in the middle of fixing dinner, and could hear Trent in the next room crying and repeatedly saying, "Mommmyyyyy!" Brian did his best to console him from afar.
Brian: Bud, Mommy's at school.
Trent: Mommmyyyyy!
Brian: It's okay Trent.
Trent: Mommmyyyyy!
After several minutes of trying but getting nowhere, Brian poked his head around the corner and found this:

That is so sad! Just know that it will pay off in the long run!
Oh my gosh that is so sweet!
Oh! How heartwrenching! What a little sweetheart. There's something about mamas that just can't be replaced, no matter how good the dad (or aunt) is.
Oh my heart just broke! Nothing can replace mommy! What a sweetheart! Brian better have stopped what he was doing and givin him a love!
Ahhhhh! That is the most tender thing I have seen this week...and I even watched "Extreme Makeover Home Edition".
That did pull at my heartstrings!! That is sad. There is something about a mom that dad's just can't do. Kids just have a special bond with their mothers!
Sniff...sniff...
Look at that sad face :(. It's so hard to leave them and it's harder to know that thye MISS you! It's worth it and it's good for him to have daddy time (it doesn't make it easier).
I do all my school from home... LOVE IT! Nothing like doing schoolwork in your PJ's :).
That is the sweetest thing EVER!!!!
You are a blogging maniac! Good job. I think if there was a picture of you at my house (wait, there should be?) that is exactly what Trent would do the whole time you are gone. But, without that reminder, he usually only stands at the door crying 'Moooommmmmmyyyyy' for about 5 minutes and then he goes about his business. Cute kid. Love him.
Oh.my.gosh. That is so adorable. And heart-breaking. What a doll... it *almost* makes you want to take him with you to school :) He he
Oh, how SAD!!! That did tug at my heartstrings, but at least you know that school is a good excuse for being gone and he probably got extra loves because of the cute picture, huh?!!
WoW! They always said guilt comes with motherhood...sweet little guy, just wants his mama!
Ahhhh, that's so sad! At least you know he's attached, right?
Hi Jame,
Everyone thought it was so tender...just want you to know Dad laughed hysterically when I showed him the blog tonight. Oh we love that little Trent and Ashbelle too!
The picture of Trent is adorable.
Love, Mom
Oh my goodness! How sweet! And sad! What a cutie! That is adorable...I feel your pain - I hate being away from my family too. Work and school are SO hard to mix with motherhood. Hang in there! What a nice reminder that your kids adore you! How sweet!
Awwww. That is do cute. His little face says it all. He sure loves his mama.
oh that is sooo sad!
How sweet is that...what a cutie!
OHHHH, so sad and sweet!!! I'm glad Brian captured the picture.
What a cute story! Keep your chin up - you are doing an amazing job in ALL aspects!
