Here I go, embarrassing Brian again! But this time it is a good thing and something that he should be really proud of. Since March, Brian has lost 52 pounds!! I have been so impressed with his dedication and willpower. He has been going to the gym at least 3 times a week, eating healthier foods, and concentrating on portion control. He maintains that he is not on a "diet". So, if you see him, do NOT use that word! Instead, he is really focusing on making this a lifestyle change, and I think he looks fantastic. Way to go Bri!
Also, several have inquired as to which field I am going into. And the answer is: Nursing. Right now I am leaning towards the ER, but that may change. I have to do my prerequisites first, which consists of five classes, and then I can apply to the program. I don't know how long the waiting list is right now, but I think it is usually a couple years, and then the program is two years. So, I won't actually be a nurse for probably five years, but it will be worth it in the end.

Way to go Brian... I don't know what you looked like before, but you look great now!!
Jamie... we're in the EXACT same boat. I have 2 more pre reqs to do before I can apply to nursing school...then I have a two year program. Great minds think alike!!! We'll have to compare notes! I feel like I've already earned my RN with Owen... these hours should count for something! :)

Way to go Brian! Even if you are a loser, you are a winner in my book!
Way to go Brian!!!
And... way to go Jamie!!! School is going to be great and totally worth it !!! : ) You are so brave to do the ER thing... there is no way I could do that!
That is awesome for Brian!! Such dedication-it definitely isn't an easy thing to do!! And, you're going to make an AWESOME nurse!! I love to learn about nursing and medicine, etc., but to actually do it on a live person, well I don't think I could stomach it!! (Especially in an ER!!)
Wow, you guys both rock! Very impressive.
That is awesome Brian! Way to go! Keep up the good work.
Jamie that is so great, nursing! You'll be a fantastic nurse! Good luck with everything and don't give up.
I am so proud of Brian and totally jealous! You know that commercial with the cartoon man and lady who both start a diet and the man loses a ton of weight and the woman just loses her boobs, so true! I think you will be a great nurse, no matter how long it takes! Miss you!
YaY for Brian! YaY for Jamie!
Your both AmAZiNG! Good job Brain, you look great.
Jamie-lets all get together soon!
I didn't know you were going into nursing! Way to go! Another nurse in the family for your parents! You should apply to the U while you wait for the SLCC list! If you finish your one or two pottery classes you could apply to the fast track program at the U for those who already have a BS. Because not very many people graduate and then go back into nursing you have less people to compete with. It is also 4 straight semesters so it is only a year and a half. You could be a nurse sooner than 5 years!!! Also another plus is you would have a BS in nursing and have the opportunity to fill management positions when your old and can't handle all the running around...If you have questions give me a call. I can give you more details. Also, you could apply for the regular program which I did while you wait. Call me, and we can chat!!
P.S. Brian looks great!
Way to go Bri! I am impressed!! You look fabulous.
I've always thought you looked fabulous Brian - you da man!
Wow. That is awesome. Congrats, Brian! What a commitment...
And nursing? Sweet! If I didn't have such a weak stomach, I may have considered it. Hehe.
Nice going Brian. I bet you feel wonderful! Jamie, I see you as a nurse, you have the right stuff!
Very proud of both of you.
Random question: I swear I remember seeing a blog about someone having a dinosaur party in your family and posting about it. Am I crazy or was there one? I cant seem to remember who it was, I thought it was Ben, but Monica's blog doesn't go that far back. Can you let me know?
Jamie... in reply to your blog comment ... I simply have TOO much time on my hands now that I quit work. So I do homework and blog while Owen sleeps. Thankfully for my useless technical knowledge I gained at godaddy I can redesign my blog in minutes. It's all about tackling the HTML code a bit.
I need to get more hobbies or something!!:)
