Sticky Snacks

Ashlyn makes me laugh every day! I gave Ashlyn some fruit snacks this morning and she discovered that if she licked them, they became sticky. I was cleaning the kitchen and she walked around the corner with two fruit snacks stuck to her face! I couldn't help but laugh out loud and then I quickly grabbed the camera. She has such a funny personality.

Please excuse the ragged look, we hadn't quite gotten ready for the day yet.

THANK YOU!!!

I wanted to take a moment to thank my beautiful wife for everything she does for me and our little family. I am not the easiest person to live with but she loves me and has always been there for me. She is the best wife a man could ask for, I am grateful to have her in my life. She is an excellent mother, and sacrifices her time and comfort to ensure Ashlyn is taken care of. It is a huge comfort for me to know Jamie is home raising our child. As we prepare for another child I have few worries because i know both of them are in very good hands.. Thank you Jamie.....

CHEESE!

I have taken so many pictures of Ashlyn, that all I have to do sometimes is point the camera in her direction and she says "cheese" and gives me a big smile! This pic was taken last night at her cousin Reagan's 1st Birthday party. Happy Birthday Reagan!

How Rude

I don't understand how rude people can be. We went to the grocery store tonight and were almost hit by a woman who ran a stop sign in the parking lot. Brian hit the brakes and luckily the woman saw us and stopped. As we passed by I pointed to the stop sign to let her know that she should have stopped. (It was a two-way stop, so we had the right-of-way) I might add that Brian did not honk his horn and I did not give her a mean look. However, as we passed, she stuck her tongue out at me! Oh, and did I mention that she was probably about 45 years old? How rude...

I am grateful

I had to teach a lesson in Relief Society on gratitude today. And I just want to say that I have so much to be grateful for. I want to let all of you know that I love you and am so grateful to have you in my life. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family and great friends. You are all truly light in my life! XOXOXO

It's a GIRL!

Girl #6 has been added to our family. As Monica put it, "Now we have a six pack!" Maya Mae Eyre was born today, September 19th at 2:36 pm. She was 7 lb. 7 oz. and 19 1/2 inches long. Everything went very smoothly, except that Madison is a little skeptical of the 'new addition'.

She is such a beautiful baby, and healthy too!

And just look at that hair! It looks darker in this pic, but she is blonde! Who would have thought that Mindy and Marty would have a blondie?

Oh Baby!

Mindy is going to be induced tonight, YEAH! This is going to be grandkid #8 for my parents. Will it be a boy or a girl?? Only time will tell. I'll keep you posted!

Party Time!

I have to give a shout out to Aaron and Monica for the awesome party they threw for Ben on Saturday night. Our nephew Ben turned 4 years old and we celebrated with a dinosaur themed party. Aaron and Monica went all out and we all had a great time!

Ben loved his party, well mostly. Let's just say that boys don't enjoy getting new clothes as much as girls do.

The highlight of the party was definitely the bounce house that Aaron and Monica rented for the occasion. The kids also had fun making their party hats.

There were dinosaur tracks throughout the yard. The kids also got to dig for dinosaurs in the sandbox.

The party favors were personalized dinosaur eggs with different treats inside for the kids based on age and gender. And the food was delicious! We had Chicago-style hot dogs, Seattle-style hot dogs, and home made corn dogs. Yummy! I should also mention the volcano cake that Monica made with smoke coming out of the top. I hope I didn't forget anything. Thanks again Aaron and Monica, we had a great time! Happy Birthday Bennie!

GO UTES!!!

Two major things happened last night: the UTES won their first game of the season against No. 11 Ranked UCLA (44-6) and BYU lost for the first time in school history to TULSA...LOL. On a side note BYU also recently lost to UCLA. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come for the last game of the season, if you know what I mean. We have a large amount of family and friends who are cougar fans and we don't want to rub it in your face, but...

We are flying our flag with pride today!!!

The Healing Field

We went to the Healing Field in Sandy tonight. I think that the flags stay up for a week, so if you get a chance to go, I would recommend it. And in case you don't know what it is, there is a flag representing every person who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. The imagery is quite impressive. 9/11 was one of those poignant moments in history that I will tell my children and grandchildren about, remembering vividly exactly were I was and what I was doing when the attacks happened.

We are jumping in!

We have decided to take the dive and join the blogging pool. We are doing this to keep in better contact with family, friends, and those who live out of state. We also thought it would be fun to share with you the MANY pictures we take.

Here is a brief overview of our lives for the past two years: We bought our first home. Brian graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in finance. Our little family began to grow - Ashlyn was born on March 11, 2006. Jamie quit working, become a full-time stay at home mom. We are expecting our second child, due November 8th.

Here are some highlights of our summer!!

We spent a wonderful week at a cabin in Duck Creek -thanks mom and dad! For those who don't know, Duck Creek is up Cedar Mountain. We were able to go to Zions National Park one day which was our favorite part of the vacation.

We spent all day hiking in Zions, which meant that Ashlyn spent all day in the back pack. As you can tell, she loved it! She did so well all day, but by the end of the last hike to Emerald Pools, she had fallen fast asleep.

We saw a ton of squirrels, lizards, and frogs along the trails. Our sister-in-law Monica caught this tiny guy and I was barely able to snap a photo before it jumped off her hand.

We spent some fun in the sun...

Grandpa put up a huge playset in his backyard, the kids love it!

Poor Ashlyn was stung by a bee.

We went to multiple Bees games courtesy of Med One (Brian's employer).

We planted our first garden. This is from our zucchini plant???

The world's smallest tomato! Better luck next year!

Ya'll come back now ya hear!
